The Slippery Slope Of Mixing Business And Pleasure

2 min readSep 7, 2017

I have been a freelancer on and off for about 10 years and I’ve posted on Steemit.com for a good year.

I need to confess something. My creative compass is broken.

Normally, I will draw post a video, or do something online for creative motives only, but lately I have lost that drive. The thrill of a fun post and it really sucks.

I may have started out with the ardor of an amatuer, but I am feeling like a grumpy grouchy old fart lately.

Here is one problem. I really love money. I like making things and getting money for things I’ve made. What happens when the money stops or slows to a trickle? Does the creative passion stop? Do I pivot and chase the money?

The business brain in me says pivot all the way. Something else in me, possibly my shriveling rotting soul, says to just chill out. Stop forcing the moment. Let the muse stroll in when she is ready and the creative magic will happen.

Well. I am looking for some suggestions playlists mantras or yoga poses to help me chill out. Does anyone have suggestions?
